Paediatric Advanced Life Support Provider
Target Audience:
Available to any healthcare professional who is registered as a Medical or Dental Practitioner, Intern, Junior Intern, Professional Nurse or Advanced Life Support Paramedic. A valid AHA BLS for Healthcare Provider Certificate is required. Prior ACLS participation is recommended but not required.
Learning Outcomes:
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Systematically assess seriously ill or injured infants and children
- Manage respiratory distress, respiratory failure, and shock states
- Recognise life-threatening arrhythmias and arrest rhythms
- Apply respiratory management including oxygen delivery and intubation
- Perform electrical therapy — defibrillation and cardioversion
- Establish IV and intra-osseous (IO) access
Course Structure:
Practical, case-based Course with extensive hands-on practice through simulated scenarios. Multiple opportunities to lead resuscitation teams with constructive feedback.
Assessment and Preparation:
AHA PALS Providers Manual, algorithm memory cards, practice cases, and a pre-course self-assessment test are supplied to participants before the Course.
