Paediatric ALS for Experienced Providers
Target Audience:
Senior healthcare professionals (Medical or Dental Practitioners, Professional Nurses, or Advanced Life Support Paramedics) with a valid PALS provider certification who manage paediatric patients in acute emergency or ICU settings. A valid AHA BLS Provider Certificate is also required.
Core Skills:
Participants will develop and refine the following competencies:
- Systematic assessment of seriously ill or injured children
- Managing respiratory distress and compensated and hypotensive shock
- Recognising life-threatening arrhythmias and arrest rhythms
- Respiratory management including oxygen delivery and intubation
- Electrical therapy including defibrillation and cardioversion
- IV and intra-osseous access techniques
Course Structure:
Day 1 is dedicated to practical case-based learning with simulations. Day 2 covers advanced topics including:
- Burns management
- Status epilepticus
- Management of Diabetic Ketoacidosis (DKA)
- Trauma
- Ventilation
Assessment and Preparation:
Pre-course materials are provided to all participants prior to the Course. The in-person days combine simulations, case discussions, and hands-on skill stations with constructive instructor feedback throughout.
