Advanced Neonatal Life Support (NRP)
Target Audience:
Healthcare professionals whose responsibilities may require them to manage or participate in the resuscitation of a newborn. A valid AHA BLS for Healthcare Provider Certificate is required.
Learning Outcomes:
Based on the evidence-based Neonatal Resuscitation Program designed by the American Academy of Pediatrics in association with the American Heart Association, participants will be able to:
- Perform initial neonatal resuscitation steps
- Use ventilation devices correctly
- Apply chest compression techniques
- Perform endotracheal intubation
- Administer medications
- Manage special birth considerations
- Care for preterm infants
- Apply ethical principles and end-of-life care considerations
Course Structure:
Practical, case-based program with video demonstrations, instructor guidance, and hands-on practice with simulated clinical scenarios.
Assessment and Preparation:
A 270-page American Academy of Pediatrics Textbook of Neonatal Resuscitation plus a Multimedia DVD-ROM (including resuscitation footage, laryngoscopic imagery, interactive scenarios, and 3-D animations) are supplied before the Course.
